Aguapé Lodge Iberà Wetlands

Aguape is a charming lodge located in Carlos Pellegrini, the gateway to the Ibera Wetlands. Situated on the shores of the Iberá Lagoon, in the heart of the Iberá Natural Reserve—Argentina’s largest protected area—Aguapé has been a pioneering lodge in the region since its creation in 1996 by a family with deep-rooted traditions. In this remarkable natural environment, you’ll have the chance to interact with over 60 species of mammals and more than 350 bird species. Enjoy panoramic views where nature is the sole protagonist, offering a front-row seat to one of the most pristine and biodiverse landscapes in Argentina.

Rooms

Aguapé Lodge features 12 en-suite rooms, divided into 8 rooms in the Main House and 4 rooms in the House Annex, all with views of the lagoon or surrounding natural landscapes. Rooms are equipped with king or twin beds and feature simple, comfortable décor designed to reflect the region’s natural charm. Large windows and verandas allow guests to wake up to the sounds of birds, gentle breezes, and the serene beauty of the wetlands.

Gastronomy

The lodge’s restaurant showcases traditional cuisine from Corrientes and northern Argentina, prepared with local, fresh ingredients. Each meal, whether a morning breakfast before a wildlife outing or a relaxed dinner after a day of exploration, embraces the flavors and warmth of regional cooking. Dining at Aguapé becomes part of the immersion experience, celebrating local culture and the rhythm of nature. At Aguapé Lodge, the summer months offer a delightful dining experience featuring exceptional regional gourmet cuisine, complemented by a wide variety of homemade delicacies. Meals are served in our restaurant garden, located by the riverbank, allowing you to savor your food while immersed in the natural surroundings. During the winter, the tables are arranged around a large fireplace with views of the lagoon, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. An Open Bar overlooking the lagoon also offers a curated wine menu, highlighting the best Argentine wines.

Experiences

From its private dock, Aguapé Lodge organizes boat trips and canoe excursions across the Iberá Wetlands, one of the best ways to observe native wildlife in its natural habitat. Guests may spot capybaras, marsh deer, black and broad-snouted caimans, river otters, and a spectacular array of over 350 bird species. Guided walks, horseback rides, and sunrise or sunset outings offer different perspectives of the ecosystem, always with an emphasis on conservation, respect, and environmental interpretation by expert local guides.

Spa & Relax

While Aguapé Lodge does not feature a traditional spa, relaxation is a natural part of the experience. The outdoor swimming pool, set against the backdrop of the wetlands, offers a refreshing retreat after excursions, inviting guests to unwind while listening to the sounds of nature. Sun loungers, shaded areas, and open views create a peaceful atmosphere ideal for resting between activities. The lodge’s gardens, verandas, and waterfront spaces enhance this sense of tranquility, making the Iberá’s natural serenity the true restorative experience.
